In between my portraiting stream I needed a different subject for today, so I had the idea of doing a relaxing watercolour sketch with three primaries on simple sketchbook paper. This is how I proceeded:

• Made a colour swatch of three colours
• Did my line drawing of the flowers
• Wet paper (it buckled a bit as it was a simple thin sketchbook paper)
• Set the three colours to do their work and encouraged them to mix on the paper
• Let dry
• Glazing: Painted hard edges towards the objects
• Let dry
• Made darker values to shape and put darkest darks in the end + additional green tones which were not mixable by these colours.

Um ein wenig aus meinem Portrait-Modus herauszukommen und etwas frische Ideen zu bekommen habe ich heute eine Entspannungs-Aquarellskizze mit Blumen auf einfachem Skizzenpapier ausprobiert. Vorgabe und gleichzeitig selbstgewählte Limitierung waren für mich drei Primärfarben + am Ende wenige Grüntöne, die aus dieser Kombination nicht gut mischbar sind.
