USk Hohenlohe auf der Ruine Limpurg bei Schwäbisch Hall

 

Eine tolle Idee von Jutta mal zur Burgruine Limpurg hochzuwandern. Das Wetter passte und wir marschierten los. Jutta führte uns den schmalen, romantischen Weg oberhalb des Kochers entlang, von dem aus man einen grandiosen Ausblick auf die Comburg hatte. Oben angekommen suchten wir uns einen Platz zum Malen. Ich fand die Reste der Abendsonne spannend, die auf die alten Gemäuer traf und diese teilweise orange schimmern ließen. Nach einer Stunde traten wir bereits den Rückzug an, denn es wurde sehr schnell dunkel. Toll war's, danke Jutta!

SKETCHTOUR KIRCHBERG - Panoramic / House / Castlesketching

 

The upper sketch of the castle gate with the small reception house was actually my first subject of the sketchtour, but I didn't get far on the first day, so I finished it the last day before lunch.

 Then we went to the eastern side of Kirchberg.

While the group was doing the panorama sketch, I sketched some houses a few metres down the road, as I already sketched the panorama of Kirchberg twice.

Two little girls came by and brought me an ice cream while I was sitting by the road. Great day.

 

LOKET SKETCHTOUR - watercolours

 

We had a fantastic time in Loket. Now follow a few of my real watercolours, which were done on good watercolour paper...

The first one is from "below the bridge", a view which was done by any participant of #loketsketchtour ...we were climbing up and down the stairs "schlepping" (a word Hana Alisa was using...) all the stuff up again...

 I continued  another one in size A3 with the following watercolour of the castle

It was quite hot that afternoon and in the beginning we sat in the shade...later it was so hot, that I did not finish totally...

The next day, I did a panoramic view on 20 x 40 cm watercolour paper 300gms

which was to the opposite side from the fortifying walls down to the railway track and bridge... 

 You can see that it was a very fast one. I did not consider much the details.

I like this for its light colouring, for the memories I had with Jana and the other great sketchers there and I am happy that the river is a bit visible in my painting.
