The weather forecast announced the warmest week-end so far this year which was already close to summer temperatures and the cool thing is that we were invited into the black forest region...I packed my new Pentalic Aqua Journal which I ordered some time ago from abroad (was quite expensive compared to the usual sketchbooks I use) and thought this is the moment for it.
After about three something hours of driving we made the obligatory espresso stop - this time in the Schluchsee region. The very deep lake Schluchsee sparkled like millions of diamonds in the sun with the dark trees of black forest in the background. I tried to do a 5 min. landscape watercolour (unfinished) and away we went for another nearly one hours drive to our final destination. In the evening I did some more portraiting...
Das Wochenende war uns als das Wärmste bisher in diesem Jahr angekündigt worden und wir hatten tatsächlich fast sommerliche Temperaturen an diesem Wochenende, an dem wir in den Schwarzwald fahren würden...ich packte mein neues Pentalic Aqua Journal ein, das ich vor einiger Zeit im Ausland bestellt hatte (es war im Vergleich zu meinen normalen Skizzenbüchern eine relativ teure Angelegenheit) und ich dachte es ist der richtige Moment das Journal mal auszutesten.
Nach ca. drei Stunden Fahrt machten wir den obligatorischen Espresso-Stop - dieses Mal in der Region um den Schluchsee. Das Wasser des tiefen Schluchsees funkelte wie tausende kleiner Diamanten und die dunklen Bäume im Hintergrund standen im Konstrast dazu. Ich machte ein 5-min. Landschafts-Aquarell (siehe oben - nicht fertigt), denn wir mussten ja weiter. Es lag noch eine knappe Stunde Fahrt vor uns. Abends habe ich dann noch einige schnelle Portraits gemacht.
