Erntetag / Harvest

This subject came straight from the garden. Bio quality ;)

I painted the nicely harvested plums and pears which looked so appealing in their wooden box.  Btw playing with the background was great fun, too and I tried to imitate the newspaper inside the box without really writing...just some fun sign...

Visit of Urban Sketcher @janvitekart to Hohenlohe, part II - Vellberg

Rathaus in Vellberg

Next day, we were heading to Vellberg. My sketching buddy Katharina @rinibommel joined in sketching and also brought some hot tea. Wonderful. The weather god was not on our side. It was raining cats and dogs and it was bloody cold. Here is my first sketch in the rain:

In the end as Katharina and I tried to finish our sketch, sitting under the roof of Rathaus Vellberg, while Jan played music and danced beside us. Great day, very tough sketchers!

Katharina sketching in Vellberg

Visit of Urban Sketcher @janvitekart to Hohenlohe, part I - Schwäbisch Hall

Jan and Marta arrived on a Friday evening from Prague. Next day we went to Schwäbisch Hall for a visit to Kunsthalle Würth, who are having a great exhibition at the moment. We did not sketch inside, but we began sketching at Sudhaus, where we had our lunch.

Later, after having made a small tour in one area of the city, we stopped at Market Square, close to church St. Michael, where the huuuge stairs are. Check out Jans sketches from there on @janvitekart.

It was bloody cold, but I could not resist to do another sketch from up the stairs "with a view".

Here is the beginning of the upper sketch. I finished that one at home:

As we got too cold and hungry we went to my favourite Cafe in town, which is definitely Café Ableitner. They have the best cakes! So here is my interior sketch in the warmth with a good coffee and cake in the left hand and a watercolour brush in the other;)

No masterpieces, but in the end I was quite productive that day.

In the evening darkness we went to closeby Comburg, a historical jewel in our area. No one around and we had the whole castle to ourselves. Fun experience. We were lucky with the weather: 4°C, partly sunny. Another great sketching day!

...to be continued...
