Today I am back to square format and paint a plant in my garden. The main number of my columbines are blue, but there are some white ones in between and this is what I loved to do today right before they wilt or loose their petals. I began with sky and background and left out the white blooms. I went very dark with the background, to bring forth the flowers. In the end just a few dabs of blue onto the petals. In the left background is my small apple tree.
BTW: From tomorrow on I will be reporting from my sketching in Main-Franken area so stay tuned for my travel-sketching Bavaria adventures...
Heute hatte ich Lust auf ein quadratisches Format und wollte eine Pflanze in meinem Garten malen. Die meisten meiner Akeleien sind blau, aber es gibt auch ein paar weisse dazwischen und davon wollte ich eine malen, bevor sie wieder verwelken. Ich begann mit dem Himmel und dem Hintergrund und habe die Blüten ausgespart, dh ich habe negativ gemalt. Den Hintergrund habe ich sehr dunkel gehalten, damit es einen stärkeren Kontrast zu den hellen Blüten im Vordergrund gibt. Am Schluss fehlten nur noch ein paar blaue Stellen auf den Blütenblättern. Im Hintergrund links sieht man noch meinen kleinen Apfelbaum.
Übrigens: Von morgen an werde ich wieder aus Main-Franken berichten - es gibt dann wieder Reiseskizzen und Aquarellbilder aus Bayern...
