Ein Meer aus Lavendel
My latest watercolour from the lavender field in Rothenburg. On the good Arches Paper I had even more fun than with my Moleskine sketchbook paper. I already did a direct watercolour sketch into that sketchbook last month of a similar view from a bit farther away of the statues here.

This time again the shadows where the main reason why I did this painting. Imagine the storck on top of the highest tower and the two people to the left. BTW I tried a new to me colour in some blue spaces which is cobalt blue DS and I think it is very brilliant and beautiful. Let's see how the colour behaves in mixes.

Lichtdurchfluteter Innenhof
The light comes through the open roof inside these arches. I love the shadows on the old stone walls. I definitely have to get back to Rothenburg soon to do some more sketches.
