Now that I am forced to be more in the studio because of the cold weather, I have time to revisit photos of my sketchfriends and try different colour combinations in watercolour portrait sketches.
First here is my coloured pencil sketch. To use coloured pencils instead of a black pencil has the advantage, that you do not see the lines that much after watercolouring.
In this sketch of Marta, I tried to use the sky blue colour (I received from Justyna, my sketchfriend from Poznan) in some shadow areas and wanted to know if the colour melts well into my usual skin mix. It is a new to me sky blue without any granulation and it actually works well.
