The Mercado dos Lavradores is a market for flowers, fruit and vegetables as well as a part of it is a big fish market. It is a colour spectacle for the eyes and each time I am in Madeira I visit it once. My todays watercolour shows a fish vendor weighing his fish for a customer.
The sketch was made with a reduced palette of four colours which are: Winsor Blue, Indanthrone Blue, Permanent Rose and New Gamboge. All mixtures in the watercolour are made of mixes of these colours. It is a good way to test colours. You can observe the mixes better in a reduced palette. Plus it is fun as well.
Der Mercado dos Lavradores in Funchal ist ein Obst-, Gemüse-, Blumen- und Fischmarkt. Der Markt ist eine Augenweide und jedesmal, wenn ich in Madeira bin ist ein Besuch obligatorisch.
Mein heutiges Bild zeigt einen Fischhändler, der seine Ware abwiegt. Die Skizze wurde mit einer eingeschränkten Farbpalette gemalt und enthält folgende Farben: Winsor Blue, Indanthrone Blue, Permanent Rose und New Gamboge. Alle Mischungen im Bild sind aus diesen Farben. Es ist eine gute Art und Weise Farben auszutesten, wenn man deren Anzahl im Bild reduziert und die Mischungen beobachtet. Ausserdem macht es natürlich auch Spaß.
