Strandpromenade Puerto de las Nieves

Gran Canaria, a very quiet morning. There are nice benches to sit and look all along the beach of Puerto de las Nieves. Behind me there were several nice restaurants and in front of me the huge mountains to the left, the beach all along the promenade and to the right the mole. 

I used the postcard size Canson 300g paper which is very stable and handy, glued to all four sides, but I needed several washes of colour as otherwise the colour seemed to be too light. 

PS: I looked for the yellow Canarian birds - I did not see any so far. Maybe too much wind? 

Gran Canaria, ein ruhiger Morgen. Entlang der Strandpromenade von Puerto de las Nieves gibt es Bänke von denen aus man den Strand gut übersehen kann. Hinter mir gibt es gute Restaurants und vor mir links die Berge, rechts die Mole und unterhalb der Promenade liegt der Strand.

Als Papier habe ich das Canson 300 g Papier in Postkartengrösse gewählt, das sich sehr stabil verhält und sich nicht wellt. Es ist an allen 4 Seiten geklebt und die Grösse ist zum Mitnehmen sehr geschickt. Die Farben kamen sehr hell auf dem Papier raus, weshalb man mehrere Schichten Farbe auftragen muss, damit das Bild nicht zu hell wird.

PS: Bisher hab ich noch keine Kanarienvögel gesehen...vielleicht zu viel Wind? Joke. 

Puerto de las Nieves church

New adventure: Gran Canaria. I spent a few days on the third biggest island of the Canaries and was very astonished to see the big mountains so close to the sea. The view onto the church was made from a comfortable roof top terrace which above all was great in the morning. The colours of the small town: white and blue. The brown rocks you see in the distance are the very steep mountains. Their colour changed a lot throughout the day.

Neues Abenteuer: Gran Canaria. Ein paar Tage auf der drittgrössten Insel der Canaren waren sehr beeindruckend und die Berge so nah am Meer zu sehen war erstaunlich und ein ungewöhnlicher Anblick. Den Blick auf die Kirche von Puerto de las Nieves konnte ich von einer komfortablen Dachterrasse aus malen. Die Stimmung am Morgen war wunderschön. Die Farben der Stadt: weiss und blau. Die braunen Felsen, die man in der Ferne sehen kann sind die steilen Berge, deren Farbe sich im Laufe des Tages immer wieder veränderte.
