How to paint a hand II / Wie malt man eine Hand II ?

 

 

Today another exercise for painting hands. Use any position of hands you like. 

The colours are indicated below. This time there is a bit more burnt umber in the last wash for the shadow parts. Just try it and you will see that it is done in a few strokes (always let dry in between).

Heute nochmal eine Übung, wie man Hände malen kann. Die Farben habe ich nochmal angegeben. Schritt für Schritt die vorher gemischte und auf separatem Papier getestete Hautfarbe auftragen und diesmal beim letzten Schritt etwas mehr Burnt Umber auf die Schattenpartien auftragen (immer dazwischen trocknen lassen).

A question I was asked about several times: How to paint hands and what skin colours to use?

I would recommend to first paint your own left hand and try to follow the steps I made in the upper drawing. The colours I would recommend are the following:

Make some tests on a small paper to get the skin mix right. Try to mix light (with a lot of water in the beginning and let dry after every step. Use burnt umber just for the very dark darks and only in small amounts.

Have fun trying this.

Ein paar mal wurde ich gefragt, wie ich denn Hände und Hauttöne malen würde, denn die seien ja so schwierig zu malen, respektive zu mischen. Hier mal eine einfache Übung. Malt einfach eure linke Hand und mischt aus den hellen Farben (mit viel Wasser) eine Hautfarbe, die euch gefällt.  Die von mir verwendeten Farben habe ich angegeben. Dann malt die Schritte nacheinander, wie angegeben und lasst die Farbe nach jedem Auftrag trocknen. Burnt Umber bitte nur für die dunkelsten Stellen und dann auch nur in sehr kleinen Dosen verwenden.
