The holidays are over and I am back to work this Friday. At least with my watercolours I come a bit closer to dream of Sicily or another warmer country. I am already preparing my next trip. Need to do an end of year clean up of my watercolour palette to start with fresh colours in 2020.
Die Feiertage sind um und ich bin an diesem Freitag wieder in der Arbeit. Die Aquarelle von Sizilien oder anderen wärmeren Ländern bringen mich zumindest ein wenig zum träumen. Aber ich bereite bald wieder eine Reise vor. Vorher will ich meine Farbpalette noch auf Vordermann bringen, damit ich in 2020 wieder mit frischen Farben weitermalen kann.
Every balcony tells a story about the people or person who lives there. This balcony tells me that there is a person who loves plants and cultivates so many plants, that there is no more place for a chair or the like. I was just playing around with three colours in my todays painting, which are blue, red and yellow. You can mix very vibrant colours out of just these three. If you use colours out of the tube, like I did, you can go darker than with the pan colour.
Jeder Balkon erzählt eine Geschichte der Person, die dort lebt. Dieser Balkon sagt mir, dass dort ein Mensch lebt, der Pflanzen sehr gern hat und es gibt keinen Platz mehr für einen Stuhl oder ähnliches. Mit den drei Farben blau, rot und gelb, kann man sehr leuchtende Farbmischungen erzielen und deshalb habe ich heute mit diesen Farben gespielt. Wenn man Tubenfarben verwendet, kann man auch sehr dunkle Farbmischungen erzielen.
On my daily bike tour through the forest I forget about daily work and get lots of new ideas (Mostly for drawing). Yesterday I thought about the very nice balconies of Sicily. Each one is different and if I would draw these I could also play around with the coloured structures on the different walls around the balcony, the wires and cables, the plants and the shadows of it all. This sounded like fun to me, so in the evening I chose one view of a balcony (among my photos) I saw in Trapani. The owner still had a beautiful bougainvillea plant blooming at this time of year!
Auf meiner täglichen (Fahrrad-) Fahrt zu und von der Arbeit kann ich gut nachdenken und die tägliche Arbeit vergessen. Gestern kam mir beim Radfahren die Idee, ich könnte mal einen Balkon aus Sizilien malen. Da gab es sehr Schöne und jeder war anders. Man könnte mit den Strukturen der umgebenden Wände spielen und es gab dort wilde Kabel, Pflanzen und interessante Schatten. Hört sich nach Spaß an und so begann ich dieses Aquarell am Abend. Als Vorlage fand ich ein Bild von Trapani mit einem hübschen Balkon. Der Besitzer hatte einen noch blühende Bougainvillea, die den Balkon umrankte. So ein Farbspiel macht natürlich besonderen Spaß.
