Today is Pentecost Sunday and I did a fast sketch of the Peonies my mother brought me from her garden. These beauties are filled and a bit different from my own ... and they smell really fantastic!
Had them in front of me to draw them directly and the scent filled the air in my studio. I began with a dark background (negative painting), and I intended to insert my very colourful tablecloth which I use at the moment on my table.
This sketch did not take very long and I like the very sketchy look of the end result.
Heute ist Pfingstsonntag und ich machte eine schnelle Skizze der Päonien, die mir meine Mutter aus ihrem Garten mitgebracht hatte. Diese Schönheiten sind gefüllt und sehen etwas anders aus, als meine eigenen Pfingstrosen im Garten... und sie riechen zudem fantastisch!
Ich hatte sie direkt vor mir auf dem Tisch im Studio und der Duft breitete sich aus. Zu Beginn brachte ich Farbe auf den Hintergrund auf - Negativmalerei - und wollte ausserdem meine sehr bunte Tischdecke, die ich gerade auf dem Esstisch habe, als Dekorationsobjekt mit einfügen.
Die Skizze ging unheimlich schnell von der Hand und ich mag auch den eher skizzenhaften Effekt des Endergebnisses.
