From one of the last symposiums I received a watercolour pencil "Albrecht Dürer Magnus" which is a very large one. The colour is Geranium red light and I somehow forgot to test it.
Now that the poppies are in all their beauty in my garden, I remembered that I still had this pencil plus a geranium red watercolour I received by white nights watercolours.
I made a sketch and combined both. The pencil is very soft and glides really well over the surface. If applied and wetted afterwards it could be used like watercolour. If it is used on wet surface the colour gets really deep geranium read. It does not spread on wet paper like watercolour does and is easy controllable. For the colour spreading and softer transitions I applied the Geranium red watercolour of white nights which is one of my actually preferred reds.
An einem der letzten Symposien habe ich einen Albrecht Dürer Magnus Aquarellstift in der Farbe Geranium Rot light erhalten....-...und vergessen ihn auszutesten.
Vor ein paar Tagen ist es mir im Zusammenhang mit den Mohnblumen in meinem Garten wieder eingefallen, dass ich ihn noch auf dem Schreibtisch liegen habe, wie auch eine Aquarellfarbe von White Nights in Geranium Rot.
Also machte ich eine Mohnblumen-Skizze und kombinierte beide Farben. Der Stift glitt sehr leicht übers Papier und mir machte es Spaß damit zu malen. Wenn der Farbauftrag angefeuchtet wird, ist er vermalbar, wie Aquarellfarbe. Wenn zuerst Wasser aufs Blatt gegeben wird und danach der Stift aufgetragen wird, wird die Farbe sehr stark pigmentiert, fließt aber nicht weg. Dafür ist dann die Aquarellfarbe von White Nights da, mit der man Übergänge leichter erreichen kann. Diese Farbe gehört zur Zeit zu meinen Lieblings-Rottönen.
Still I am not through all the colours I have received during my last visit to Amsterdam. Today I will have a look at the following colours of White Nights. Just to try the below colours I did a fast sketch of a pear (view from above).

were given to me during the USk Symposium in Amsterdam.
The colours are very vibrant, rewet very well and intermix to my complete satisfaction.
My favourite mix is the Cobalt Turquoise mixed with Aureolin. It makes beautiful green shades, and if a tiny bit of red is added the greens get a bit darker. I already fell in love with Cobalt Turquoise before as this colour is also available with other Manufacturers as well as Aureolin and I use it in my studio.
A new to me colour was the Geranium Red which is a very strong colour. The Venice Purple as well mixes beautiful reddish brown tones, if mixed for example with Cobalt Turquoise and lesser water. All in all great colours of which Cobalt Turquoise will probably make it to one of my colour palettes.
Noch immer bin ich nicht mit allen Farben, die ich vom USk Symposium in Amsterdam mitgebracht habe durch und ich wollte mir die vier ganzen Näpfchen von White Nights mal anschauen, die oben abgebildet sind. Die Farben sind sehr leuchtend, lassen sich gut anlösen und vermalen und vermischen sich zu ausdrucksstarken Farbtönen.
Mein Favorit ist Cobalt Turquoise, das mit dem Gelbton zusammen schöne, leuchtende Grüntöne erzeugt. Das Geranium Rot ist eine extrem leuchtende Farbe und das Venice Purple kann man zu sehr dunklen Rotbrauntönen vermischen, indem man das Cobalt Turquoise mit wenig Wasser dazumischt. Auf jeden Fall sind die Farben empfehlenswert, wobei mein Favorit tatsächlich das Cobalt Turquoise ist.
