USk Hohenlohe - Braunsbach

With 13° C, the morning was chilly and rainy, when we met at the market place in Braunsbach. We went uphill first to the protestant church. The pastor showed us the interior of the lovely little church which could be our shelter if the rain continues. Thank you for that.

For my first sketch I sat beside the church (left in my drawing) and I had a view through the gate and on one of the castle towers. I like the looks through gates probably hiding other views. I just saw the little fountain, a kind of staircase and
Katharina sitting inside the castle. An intersting thing is that there is also a catholic church inside the castle within a few metres from here.

Kids came by and made their nice comments. They also brought me cherries and later came with their drawing stuff to draw themselves a bit outside...maybe the next generation of Urban Sketchers?

Mit 13°C war der Vormittag recht kalt und etwas nieselig. Wir trafen uns auf dem kleinen Marktplatz in Braunsbach. Nachdem alle da waren ging es hoch, zuerst in die protestantische Kirche. Die Pfarrerin schloss uns auf und zeigte uns das Innere der hübschen Kirche, die auch unser Schutz vor Regen sein könnte. Danke dafür.

Für meine erste Skizze saß ich neben der Kirche (eine Wand davon sieht man links in meinem Bild) und ich hatte einen Blick durch das Tor und auf einen der Schloßtürme. Ich finde "Durchsichten" immer spannend und hatte einen Blick auf einen kleinen Brunnen, auf Treppengeländer und Katharina, die im Schlosshof saß. Interessant ist auch, dass sich innerhalb des Schlosses, nur einen Steinwurf von der evang. Kirche auch noch eine katholische Kirche befindet.

Ein paar Kinder kamen vorbei und gaben ihre Kommentare zu unseren Bildern ab. Sie brachten mir Kirschen und entschlossen sich später auch mit ihren Malsachen zu kommen...möglicherweise die nächste Generation von Urban Sketchern?

Later we went for coffee and there we did some 10 min. portrait sketching... 
Another remarkable day in Hohenlohe paradise.

Mein anderes Aquarell ist von oberhalb des Schlosses und dank Katharina habe ich auch ein Foto, auf dem ich malend unter dem Baum sitze...




Später beim Kaffeetrinken machten wir noch 10 min. Portraits zur Übung...und wieder ein bemerkenswerter Tag in unserem hohenloher Paradies.
