Cala means: Bight. The abundant wildflowers in the bight are the first thing I noticed as they are more than knee high and mostly yellow and a few are pink. They grow everywhere and you see at once that the soil must be very good for growing plants. In front of every restaurant or house there are terracotta flower pots with plants and people seem to have a sense of decoration.
I am sitting on the terrace of the hotel and watch people going by and draw while there is a man fishing with his fishing rod all day and the boats are slowly floating in and out of the harbour and the atmosphere is very relaxed.

Cala bedeutet: Bucht. Der Überfluss an Wildblumen in der Bucht war das erste, was ungewöhnlich für mich war und mir auffiel. Die Blumen sind meinst gelb und einige wenige sind pink und sie sind mehr als Kniehoch. Sie wachsen überall und man sieht sofort, dass der Boden hier sehr fruchtbar sein muss. Vor den Restaurants und Gebäuden sind grosse Terracotta Blumentöpfe mit Pflanzen aufgestellt und die Menschen hier scheinen ein Gespür für Dekoration und Pflanzen zu haben.
Ich sitze malend auf der Terrasse des Hotels und beobachte wie Menschen vorbeilaufen und ein einzelner Angler bereits seit dem Frühstück unten am Wasser sitzt und angelt. Die Boote fahren langsam ein und aus dem Hafen heraus und die Stimmung ist extrem entspannt.
